Positano is in a wonderful location rich of natural beauties. Tourists started to arrive after the Second World War. Today many tourists arrive but Positano didn’t lose its typical image of a “vertical” town. Inhabitants have a great sense of hospitality and this is why people from all over the world choose it.
Positano is very important in the world also for its fashion: in this exceptionally wonderful town there are many shops and boutiques, that sell many different kinds of beautiful frocks and dresses made of traditional handkerchief. Irene Kowaliska, in 1942, stayed in Positano until 1956 and produced models for fabrics that show blue women on the terraces or at the windows, on a white background with the typical landscape of Positano at their back. It’s “moda Positano” time: a variegated, polychrome, exotic fashion. A very important and tasteful product is “limoncello”.
